About Sudsational ...

Welcome to our site. My name is Chelsey Edwards, and I am the owner of Sudsational Body Works. I started making soap in 1998. Oddly enough, it was not for me. You see, one of my very dear friends was a full-time soapmaker. Her soap business demand was expanding past her ability to keep up. I was drafted to be the "helper." While it felt good to help out a friend, it was also FUN and somewhat ADDICTIVE. Two years later, she decided to go back to working a "regular" job. By that time, however, she/we had customers who were "hooked." Frankly, so was I! After much discussion with my friend, and with her blessing, Sudsational Body Works was opened in July, 2000. Where has the time gone? We were having such a good time making beautiful soaps and candles for you, the time flew by.

Not only do I own/run a small business, but I also have a "regular" job. Picture Erin Brockovich, only a lot less glamorous, and with a little less cleavage. :) You guessed it; I work for lawyers. I am also a busy single mom with a handsome, very intelligent thirteen year old son. This year, he is in drama and Boy Scouts. Together, we have 2 horses, 2 bichons, 2 cats, 1 guinea pig and a fish tank. We are also a Texas affiliate of a national bichon rescue effort. We help rehab and rehome fluffs in need. One of our 'chons, Scout, became a therapy dog for Paws for Caring in October, 2002. Our animals bring us such immeasurable joy, we felt it only right to share that joy with others. I assure you, though, we do not test our products on animals. However, friends and family members are considered fair game!

In addition to working full time, raising a teenager, taking care of our animals and rescuing others, I enjoy spending time with my long-time boyfriend, Doug. He is such a great guy! Together, we enjoy horseback riding, scuba diving, camping, and traveling. Our most recent family excursion was Disney World in Orlando, Florida. (We *highly* recommend it!) For those who are wondering, yes, I am STILL working on our Disney scrapbook. Creating a masterpiece takes time, ya know. Scrapbooking: another addictive hobby I just can not seem to find enough time for.
